PARALLEL SYSTEMS

SIEL can configure up to a quantity of 8 single SAFEPOWER Evo modules for parallel operation.

  1. Rectifier/Charger
  2. Battery*
  3. PWM IGBT Inverter
  4. Static Switch
  5. Static Bypass

Parallel operation provides increased system reliability through n + 1 redundancy together with an extremely cost effective means of extending system capacity.

SIEL will configure your parallel system based on a unique Decentralized Parallel Architecture (DPA) design concept that offers major benefits over traditional centralized system arrangements. In n + 1 redundant applications, DPA provides for substantially enhanced system reliability through the elimination of a single point of failure. Comparative MTBF analysis confirms that DPA offers a 32 fold system reliability improvement over traditional centralized system arrangements.

DPA provides for a very flexible and efficient solution, allowing you to easily expand the system or conversely scale back capacity as and when required.

Integrity of the system as a whole is enhanced by the elimination of any electrical connections between the individual modules configured for parallel operation. A secure inter-module fibre optic bus enables information exchange for synchronization and correct system operation between intelligent inverter and static switch control logics.

The Parallel Systems offered by SIEL also provide for optimum flexibility. Power upgrades and/or n + 1 redundancy can easily be achieved at any time by operating up to 8 systems in parallel. Power ratings for parallel systems can be configured in a wide range form 20kVA to 8MVA.

SIEL is able to configure up to 4 single modules for parallel operation, utilizing a common battery*.
